Yarmouth Veterinary Center offers the finest in full-service veterinary care with our two highly-qualified veterinarians who treat each patient with the utmost competency and compassion. Veterinarian Dr. Louise LeBoeuf and Dr. Peter Smith began their unique practice in Yarmouth back in 1986 when it was just a small ell attached to their home. To give a good idea of their dedication from the beginning, the x-ray machine was in their living room! Soon the clinic took over the house and both vets moved out. Next: a new grooming salon and boarding kennel across from the clinic, now the site of the new veterinary hospital, which opened in 2000.
From its small beginning in their home, the practice now boasts five veterinarians, and a large support staff, all of whom are dedicated to providing the outstanding service we’ve been known for since day one!
Each veterinarian is truly all things to all small animals. We are one of the few vet practices that provides all services to dogs, cats, birds (includes pets and poultry), and exotics including reptiles, rabbits, ferrets, rodents and other small mammals, amphibians and fish.
Our surgical team is unmatched. We cater to the needs of each pet, and keep a keen focus on them throughout the entire procedure. Our veterinarians perform soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
Health and behavior benefits from these surgeries abound for pets. Plus, you’ll do your part to curb the growing number of unwanted animals.
Central to your pet dog or cat’s health is proper oral hygiene and dental care. We have the expertise and equipment to handle complicated dental procedure, but our focus is on preventative dental care.
When your pet becomes ill or injured, and the cause isn’t readily visible, our advanced diagnostic capability enables our veterinarian to diagnose most health problems with our in-house facilities, including lab for testing blood and urine, digital x-ray, diagnostic ultrasound, echocardiography, endoscopy and more.
A protected pet is a healthy pet. Our veterinarians are firm believers in the need to keep pets vaccinated against very serious and even life-threatening diseases. The core vaccinations are non-negotiable and include rabies and canine parvovirus for dogs and rabies, feline calcivirus and feline panleukopenia for cats. Non-core vaccines also protect pets for specific activities or lifestyles and are not necessary for all.
When you’re leaving town, can you think of a better, safer, and more perfect place to leave your pet than where he or she can get the best medical care in the area if the need arises? Welcome to the Yarmouth Veterinary Center boarding facility where we welcome not just dogs and cats, but any and all small animals.
We are very excited to have you join our family and invite you to call and come see us for yourself. Call us today at (207) 846-6515.

I am a true fan of YVC! They have provided wonderful care of my dogs and cats over the years but provided even better care of my family when our last dog passed away. Their compassion and caring went above and beyond and helped us through the terrible loss. I would highly recommend YVC!
